My new art studio! Still working on the inside so no pics yet. I am beyond excited to have my own space!! It’s set off from the house and it has its own little patio and grass! I am sooooo lucky!
Yo Yo Yo– Coolio Catfish is in the Katyoparty House! I am definitely the luckiest cat IN THE WORLD because I have a smiling face on BOTH sides of my head and my bodacious flower “tatas” are also on both sides of my body! Not sure if that’s a blessing or a curse…. My favorite feature is that I can hang around by the moon coming out of the top of my head—you’ve heard of the cow jumping over the moon—well I’m the cat that jumped over the moon!
I am truly an original witchy wench mermaid! I made sure to put on my brightest pinkest lipstick before the photo shoot and of course it matches my wire spiral beaded hair and my prominent “attributes”! LOL My chunky silver shoes are DA BOMB too. I really like my friend the Blue Wild Woman but I’m not so sure about that skull head chick……
Say hello to my little blue friend! I love her smooth round roly-poly head and unlike me she is completely serene at all times. She enjoys wearing her flowery square bra and her bright blue shoes (to match her head)! Her dreads are quite showy with their silver and blue wire wraps and she has one loooong dread with a butterfly and a fish so she can “hang around” anywhere she wants! T0day she is hanging around watching me make some comrades for her!
My first attempt at hammered metal and making swirls. I am completely in love with these red glass beads! They are so gorgeous I almost wanted to eat them—just kidding :) I learned that although these swirls, curls and twirls look whimsical and devil may care there is a definite art to making them. They can’t be too tight and they can’t be too open. My favorite part was hammering the hell out of them and seeing what they looked like flattened out. There is also a definite touch when hammering them flat. They are fairly small so you have to be careful about hammering your own appendage—ouch! You don’t want to go any lighter than 18 gauge wire for these because the wire won’t hold it’s shape. Found that out the hard way when my swirls wouldn’t stay swirled. Have fun swirling, twirling and curling!
Awhile back I found the pattern for this lovely girl. I took some liberties with the design and made my mermaid more “unique” with a nice skull head and some metal knockers—and I also looooooove her beautiful wild gold hair! She looks like me before I have my coffee in the morning 🙂
Good Morning Universe! Katyoparty has been toying with the idea of actually starting to blog so here I am. Today is the day. Thank you Universe for all my blessing and oppurtunities. I am moved today by a line near the end of a book I finished reading over the weekend. “Peace gently knocked on the door of my heart.” I love that line. I can close my eyes and feel the essence of the words. How a simple experience or event could cause the tumbler of emotion to click excactly into place. Exhale. Enjoy that line today.
The book is called “Sounds Like Crazy” and it is written by Shana Mahaffrey.
